What is the Importance of a Hair Dryer?
Hair Dryers Importance – Blow drying helps to pre-mold your hair into a style. It plays a part in every haircut service we provide at Murdock as it effectively takes the moisture out of hair, causing less frizz and creating a natural overall body and shape to style away at.
Is a Hair dryer good for hair?
Hair dryers are generally used and can cause hair damage such as dryness, roughness, and loss of hair color. Therefore, it is essential to understand the best way to dry hair without causing damage.
Are Hairdryers Safe?
Today’s commercially available hair dryers are relatively safe to use on one’s hair. However, any mechanical manipulation of the hair does introduce a risk of damage to the hair. Nevertheless, a few simple guidelines can help minimize the likelihood of damaging your hair through a hair dryer.
How do Hair Dryers Work?
Many people know the daily routine of washing, drying, and styling their hair. While hair will finally dry on its own if given enough time, many people reach for a hair dryer to speed up the procedure. While science may have contradicted the link between wet heads and catching colds, sitting around with a head full of wet hair is still not fun, especially in winter.
Hair dryers, also known as blow dryers, were first sold in the 1920s. At first, they were pretty dangerous to use — hundreds of people electrocute when they dropped their hair dryers into water-filled sinks and bathtubs.
That isn’t as likely today, however, because of the advent of Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCI). For example, since 1991, all portable hair dryers have been required by U.S. federal law to protect you against electrocution should you accidentally drop one in the water while it’s plugged in.
What happens to a hair dryer if you drop it in water when it’s not plugged in? You don’t risk electrocution since there’s no current source, but you can damage the hair dryer if all of its components get wet. So, plugged in or not, it’s a bad idea to throw it in the tub.
A hairdryer needs only two parts to generate the blast of hot air that dries your hair:
- a simple motor-driven fan
- a heating element
Hair dryers use the motor-driven fan and the heating element to transform electric energy into convective heat.
